The Map

There's a lot in this that I like. I like how realistic the outside trees look, I like the detail in the architecture, I like the colors and tones on Licey, I like the whimsical painting Licey has done, and I like how much fun stuff is going on in her painting (Through the mist, the tree of dying chlorophyl spills a river from a pink blow horn over the rolling checkerboard landscape… or am I the only one who sees that?). And now that I've told you how much I like it, I'm going to be nit-picky.

The perspective is a little odd, and at first I thought the room was an oval rather than a circle. So the concept of a round room is there, but you might need to be sitting in a round room to get the curves just right or something (i've never tried to draw a round room before, so I really don't know). The trim changes from left to right, it looks like trim on the left and almost like a very small window seat on the right. Also, the rain drops are always passing by the window at the same angel, and never hit the panes of glass (where if we had a vantage point of half of the room, rain at any angle except straight down would have to hit the windows somewhere, because the room is a circle).

Licey's left foot is probably just being covered by the zoom of her hand, but maybe we should be able to see just a bit of her sock poking out? Since her left leg is covered so much it gives the illusion that its a lot smaller than her right leg. And the left main loop of her hair has background behind it instead of more hair (given the angel of the top of her head, there should part of her head behind it, albeit I didn't notice this until I zoomed in and was looking at details).
